Hanna was born in Sydney, Australia, to a Swedish mother and Swiss father. She received her early dance training at the Northern District School of Ballet and went on to study at Ecole Dance Theatre and the Jazz Factory. Her strong technical dance ability can be seen both through her RAD ballet exams, as well as her ATOD Jazz exams, receiving Distinctions in all exams. In December 2007, after successfully auditioning for a full time vocational dance course at Ecole Ballet and Dance Theatre, Hanna left mainstream school after year 9. At the time, she also won a bursary for full time dance studies. Hanna continued her schooling through distance education, where she was awarded Dux of year 10 and completed year 11 with top marks, winning a monetary leadership and teamwork award. Wanting to widen her horizons, Hanna was accepted into summer schools in Copenhagen – the Bartholin International Ballet Seminar, New York – the Alvin Ailey School, Melbourne – the National Theatre Ballet School and San Francisco – Alonzo King Lines Ballet Summer Intensive. She was always chosen as a featured dancer in all school performances. Continuing to want to explore all facets of dance, Hanna auditioned to study at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts and was offered a place straight into second year. Her stay there was short, as she heard she had been accepted into the B.A. program at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, London. Upon graduation with a BA (Hons) in Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Hanna was accepted into the Danish Dance Theatre, Copenhagen, as an apprentice dancer in 2013. Hanna is an engaging performer and promising artist who draws you into her work. Her talent has already been recognised at the Rambert School, being chosen as the only first year student to perform with the graduation class at the Royal Opera House 2011. She has worked and been cast by choreographers such as Mark Baldwin, Kerry Nicholls, Ross McKim and Ashley Killar. During her time at school Hanna was the recipient of scholarships from the Ian Potter Cultural Trust – Australia, the Tait Memorial Trust – London and yearly bursaries for excellence from the Rambert School. Furthermore, while studying at Rambert she was chosen to perform professionally at the Royal Opera House in Wayne Sleep’s Gala Performance, at the Victoria and Albert Museum performing a Pas De Deux during the Degas Exhibition and as a feature dance for Top Shop during the Queens Jubilee. She was also fortunate enough to work closely with the Rambert Dance Company performing Itzik Galili’s ‘A Linha Curva’ whilst also being the main role in Mark Baldwin’s version of the Rite of Spring. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree gaining a First Class Honours in Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Hanna is excited to start her next adventure as a company member with Norrdans in Sweden.
